Lyzer revolutionizes Staples deliveries with 4-hour express service

Staples, voted number one brand by Consumer Choice in stationery, office and home supplies, is strongly committed to optimizing its operations. By establishing a strategic partnership with Lyzer, the innovative Portuguese Logistics as a Service (LaaS) platform, Staples is taking a step forward in customer service.

“This collaboration allows Staples customers to benefit from same-day deliveries, within a maximum of four hours, using the physical stores as logistics hubs,” point out some Portuguese specialized media such as Grande Consumo, Jornal Económico, Empreendedor or Ecommerce News.

Pilot phase has already started in 5 Staples stores

Staples has invested in modernizing its operations to adapt to new market demands and consumer expectations. For Ângelo Fernandes, Logistics Director at Staples, this partnership marks a strategic shift: "Our focus is on providing a personalized and efficient service, guaranteeing fast deliveries to those who buy online. With this partnership, we now have a new logistics approach, taking advantage of our stores as local distribution centers."

For the time being, a pilot phase of the partnership has started in five strategic stores:

• Lisbon: Alfragide, Olivais, and Sintra
• Porto: Circunvalação and Vila Nova de Gaia

With the success of the initial phase, the plan is to expand this service to 23 Staples stores by the end of April, covering more geographical areas and increasing the accessibility of this innovative service.

An innovative solution for e-commerce

Lyzer specializes in logistics technology and has identified opportunities for improvement in the management of same-day deliveries and the control of orders after dispatch. 

The platform's solution intelligently connects customer orders to the nearest stores, ensuring a more agile, efficient and sustainable operation.

In addition to faster delivery, the integration of Lyzer's technology into Staples' system has brought improvements to the “Click & Collect” service to optimize the management of orders for in-store collection. This advance is reflected in the customer experience, who now have full visibility of the status of their order and can follow the delivery process in real time.
